RecycleBank is a company that will pay you to recycle. Now that is what I call an incentive!

 

You pick a recycle bin size and it comes affixed with a chip that identifies your address. On garbage collection day, your recycle bin contents are weighed and as they are dumped onto the truck the chip is read and points are credited to your account. These credit points are converted to dollars which can be redeemed though shopping coupons with participating partners.

 

They are currently operational in various cities in the following states; Connecticut, Delaware, Massachusetts, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Vermont. If they are not available in your city, either contact them requesting their service or contact your own city and ask them to consider using RecycleBank.
