Green Smoothie
October 15, 2008 12:14 pm

fields

- a handful of Spinach/Kale/any dark green leaves you prefer
- 1/4 cup of water
- one frozen Banana
- a couple of blueberries/strawberries (Optional)
- a tsp of ground flax seed (Optional)

I enjoy a 16 oz glass of this green smoothie every morning. It is so smooth and creamy. I tend to make it with only Spinach or Kale and banana. It is the best way to get your vegetable quota in effortlessly.

Have copied it down. I’m really low on veggies and I figure drinking them is easier than all the chopping and cooking. thanks!

    Love the color :-)
I was reading about you eating raw food! Way to go! I’m doing the veggie thing…with an occasional bout of cake eating :-)
Have yet to try a cleanse!
As for the vespa…choose an outrageous name that makes you smile :-) red you say….sounds lovely!

Yup that is it - throw in everything as-is and blend. I have been trying different greens to variation. This morning i had purple kale …yuuuummmy

Is the spinach and kale cooked?

All the greens are raw that way you get the full nutrients

I’ve been into GREEN smoothies lately. Green smoothies are IN, FULL of green sunshiny life giving nutrition and in liquid form these nutrients have a shuttle directly to your cells. I feel closer to earth and sun when I fill myself with green juice, but I’ve had a hard time drinking big glasses of green smoothie because the taste can be quite, … well…. grassy. It’s an acquired taste for SURE.

I tried a new green smoothie recipe today and I LOVED it! For new to green drinkers this would be a good start. Give it a try and let me know what you think. http://www.benaturallywell.com/blog/2008/11/the-no-more-struggle-green-smoothie/ - The `No More Struggle`green smoothie
